Blss U is a new gastro bar in Porto, curated by renowned Chef Miguel Rocha Vieira, and its theme revolves around the idea that "all sins began with a bite." The restaurant offers a unique and provocative menu, with dishes inspired by the seven deadly sins, a concept originally introduced by Pope Gregory I in the 6th century.

Chef Miguel Rocha Vieira has embarked on a new adventure in Portugal. He now leads the creative direction of Blss U, which pushes culinary boundaries and reinterprets traditional recipes with flavors from around the world. The restaurant, led by executive chef Xavier Oliveira, aims to challenge conventions and spark conversations with its bold and daring dishes.

Among the more daring items on the menu is the "Half-Asian Francesinha," a playful take on Porto’s iconic sandwich. In this version, the typical ingredients of a Francesinha—like the traditional sausages—are wrapped in sliced bread, coated in nori seaweed, and served with the famous spicy sauce. The dish has a sushi-like appearance, which might shock purists of the original Francesinha.

Other standout dishes include grilled codfish heads skewered with lemongrass and kaffir lime, a vegan take on Caldo Verde, and a codfish stew with white bean purée inspired by Porto’s traditional tripe dish, Tripas à Moda do Porto. There’s also a creative twist on the classic fish stew (Caldeirada), made with various types of seaweed, tofu, and chickpeas.
