“Double Temptation” is the theme of the São João festivities at Blss U. On the night of June 23rd, this gastro club—with its prime view of the fireworks—blends festive spirit with a provocative twist, merging the charm of a traditional street party with the allure of the seven deadly sins.

At Blss U, even São João gets a bold makeover. Located in the heart of the historic center, where basil plants, toy hammers, and sky lanterns set the scene for the year’s most anticipated night, the gastro club is ready to pair tradition with contemporary culinary creativity. At the entrance, the “Sinful Arraial” comes alive with an outdoor snack and drinks bar. Inside, the flavors get even bolder with dishes inspired by the seven deadly sins, crafted by Chef Xavier Oliveira.

The celebration kicks off at door number 52 on Rua de Chã, with lots of music and lively entertainment. Between dances, guests can enjoy traditional bites like chouriço-stuffed bread (€4.50) or caldo verde soup (€4.50). Passersby will be tempted by the aroma of freshly grilled pork sandwiches (€6.50), served with water, soft drinks, or beer.

The temptation is double—and so is the celebration—continuing inside the restaurant, where guests are invited to break from tradition and embark on a gastronomic journey through the seven deadly sins. Appetizer options include the Half-Asian Francesinha (€9.50) and the Coastal Shrimp Brás (€9.50).

Main course options cater to all preferences: vegetarian, like the Sarrabulho Rice with Mushrooms (€16); seafood, such as the bold Codfish with Sausage Oil, Tripe Bean Stew, and Tongues (€26); and meat lovers can indulge in Slow-Cooked Black Pork Cheek with Oven Rice and Carqueja (€22).

Dessert is where gluttony truly shines, fueling the energy to party all night long. Standouts include the Blessed Abade de Priscos Pudding (€7.50) and the Flambéed Poveira French Toast (€8)—served, as the name suggests, flaming.

The São João celebration at Blss U takes place on June 23rd, starting at nightfall. To secure your spot, make a reservation at +351 913 831 589 or blssu@blssu.pt.
