Forno da Telha restaurant, located at Quinta do Poço Novo, in Évora, will mark Easter with a special program from April 3 to 5, bringing together offerings that combine gastronomy, tradition, and entertainment for the whole family. The initiative includes a community oven, a pottery workshop, cante alentejano, an egg hunt, and a special edition of the Ganhões Lunch.

The proposal aims to revive old customs linked to the communal experience of Easter in Alentejo, inviting residents and visitors to return “to the oven, the table, and tradition.” The program takes place over three days and reinforces the identity of the venue, recently distinguished in the MICHELIN Guide in the Recommended Restaurant category.

On April 3, the restaurant will open its wood-fired oven to the community, recreating the old spirit of the communal ovens found in Alentejo villages. The initiative allows families to bring lamb, goat, or another Easter roast already prepared at home to be cooked in the restaurant’s oven, subject to prior reservation. According to the organizers, the goal is to bring back to the city an old ritual of sharing and togetherness, centered around food and time spent in community.

The program continues on April 4, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a pottery workshop led by Pedro Capão, a guest potter from Crato. The activity, limited to 20 participants, costs 26 euros per person and includes not only the creation of a clay piece, but also an Alentejo-style barbecue and an afternoon enlivened by cante alentejano.

On Easter Sunday, April 5, Forno da Telha will host a Special Easter Ganhões Lunch, designed to bring families together around the table. The menu includes starters with cold salads, cured meats, regional cheeses, Alentejo bread, and olive oil, followed by dishes such as the traditional chickpea stew served in clay pots and lamb roasted in the wood-fired oven. Traditional desserts complete the meal.

The lunch is priced at 43 euros per person, with drinks included, including talha wine, water, soft drinks, and coffee. For children between the ages of 4 and 12, a 50% discount applies. In addition to the gastronomic component, the restaurant has also prepared entertainment for younger guests, with inflatable attractions in the garden and an egg hunt.

For those who prefer to celebrate the holiday at home, the restaurant also offers a special Easter takeaway service, featuring recipes prepared in a wood-fired oven. Among the options are roasted cod, roasted lamb with baby potatoes and sautéed greens, and duck leg with cured meat rice, all priced at 55 euros per portion, designed for four people.

Forno da Telha also offers extras such as sourdough bread, house olive oil, and Monte das Servas Sommelier Edition wines, allowing guests to complete the meal at home. Orders must be placed at least 48 hours in advance.

Reservations for the community oven, pottery workshop, special Easter lunch, and takeaway can be made by email at info@fornodatelha.pt. Seating is limited.
