Music, great food, and a panoramic view of the fireworks are the key ingredients that will make the most festive night of the year in Porto even more special. Cais-me Bem restaurant, located on the waterfront of Vila Nova de Gaia, will host an open-air celebration that promises to bring together tradition, comfort, and festive spirit in a relaxed and informal setting to celebrate São João.

Dinner begins at 7:00 PM, and the starters showcase the traditional delicacies that are a must during the Popular Saints festivities, including a selection of regional cured meats, suckling pig turnovers, shrimp samosas, codfish and chickpea salad with black olives, roasted peppers, and the classic caldo verde soup with chorizo-infused olive oil.

From the grill, set up in full view of guests, come the famous grilled sardines for those who cannot resist enjoying them juicy on top of a slice of bread, as well as a selection of meat cuts such as pork pluma, pork ribs marinated in garlic and wine, and sirloin steak, all served with boiled potatoes, sautéed greens, and sausage rice with fresh parsley.

For dessert, indulgent combinations take center stage in beloved Portuguese recipes: burnt custard, sweet rice pudding, chocolate mousse with caramelized hazelnuts, and Douro-style egg and almond pudding. Before midnight and the traditional fireworks display, which promises to illuminate the Luís I Bridge even further, guests can also enjoy sliced seasonal fruit and a variety of Portuguese cheeses and preserves.

The São João dinner at Cais-me Bem takes place on June 23, starting at 7:00 PM, and is priced at €180 per person, including a selection of beverages such as white, red, and rosé wines, beer, sangria, water, and coffee.
